[sticky post] Fic Master List

There's nothing on this journal but fic, but it was still starting to get disorganized.

I provide warnings only for what I consider to be exceptionally disturbing content. This includes graphic rape, underage sex, and extreme violence or gore. I don't warn for character death. Warnings on any individual story are by no means exhaustive, but I do try to give a general idea of what's inside.

Yuletide letter (2013)

Dear Writer,

Hi, how are you? I hope you are enjoying at least one of my prompts! I tend to be rather serious, and I prefer dramatic or ambiguous stories to fluffy ones.

Other things I like to see:

• Power struggles
• Protagonists acting as antagonists and antagonists as protagonists
• Sex
• Angst
• Dirty settings
• Hurt/comfort
• Gallows humor
• Less-than-happy endings
• Tough badasses being vulnerable in private moments
• Instances of characters complementing or mirroring each other

I don’t have too many specific dislikes, and I’m more or less immune to squick. That doesn’t mean I always like to see tons of gratuitous violence and unpleasantness, but know that you are free to include pretty much anything you need to tell the story the way you want to tell it.

That said, I'm not a huge fan of:

• High school/coffee shop/vampire/other AUs that significantly change the source material's setting or theme, but I do like the kind of AU where a single canon event is altered and the story goes from there
• Crossovers other than the ones mentioned in my prompts
• Meta-fic or breaking the fourth wall
• Issuefic, in the sense that I don’t like it when a story is all about a social or political issue; however, I love it when characters have to contend with appropriate real-life issues and challenges within the context of a larger story
• Second person or present tense (though if you want to do it to mimic the original author’s style, like with AILD, that’s great)

I’ve tried to talk about a few things that I like about each fandom and come up with some specific prompts, but don’t in any way feel tied down by what I’ve said here. I wanted to have a fairly detailed letter because I think some writers prefer it, but if you’re not one of them then just do your thing. I love to see other people’s interpretations and ideas, and I would honestly be thrilled by ANYTHING with any of these characters. I’m sure whatever you come up with will be wonderful!

(By the way, if you're looking for me on AO3, I'm also Greekhoop over there.)

6 fandoms. So long.Collapse )

I think that about covers it. Feel free to look around my LJ to get a sense of the kinds of stories I write for myself. You can also contact me with any questions.

Thank you so much. I’m really looking forward to this!

Yuletide letter (2012)

Dear Writer,

Hi, how are you? I hope you are enjoying at least one of my prompts! I tend to be rather serious, and I prefer dramatic or ambiguous stories to fluffy ones. Other things I like to see, in no particular order: power struggles, protagonists acting as antagonists and antagonists as protagonists, sex, angst, spareness, grimy settings, gallows humor, less-than-happy endings, unexpected twists on characterization, and instances of characters complementing or mirroring each other.

I don’t have to many specific dislikes, and I’m more or less immune to squick. That doesn’t mean I always like to see tons of gratuitous violence and unpleasantness, but know that you are free to include pretty much anything you need to tell the story the way you want to tell it.

That said, I'm not a huge fan of high school/coffee shop/vampire/other AUs that significantly change the source material's setting or theme, but I do like the kind of AU where a single canon event is altered and the story goes from there. In my letter I've mentioned a few crossover prompts, but aside from those I'd prefer not to get a crossover. I'm also not really looking for meta-fic. Stylistically, I don’t much care for second person or present tense (though if you want to do it to mimic the original author’s style like with AILD, that’s okay).

I’ve tried to talk about a few things that I like about each fandom and come up with a few specific prompts, but don’t in any way feel tied down by what I’ve said here. I wanted to write a fairly detailed letter because I think some people prefer it, but if you’re not one of those people then just do your thing. I would be honestly thrilled by ANYTHING with any of these characters. I’m sure whatever you come up with will be great!
